Fresh Catch Bistro

Mid-island on the bay side, Fresh Catch Bistro is a step up from the fish-shack standard without losing the view. The dining room and deck look out across Estero Bay toward the mangrove islands, and in the evening the sun drops right into that view. It is one of the better sunset tables on the island that does not involve sand.

The menu is built around fresh Gulf fish, grouper, snapper, mahi and whatever came in that day, prepared grilled, blackened or with a light hand in the kitchen. There are also good steaks, pasta and a raw bar. Happy hour is a local institution, with drink and appetizer specials that make it easy to arrive early, watch the light change and stay for dinner.

Book a table on the deck for about forty-five minutes before sunset. Reservations are a good idea in season. It is a comfortable spot for a family dinner or a couple’s night out, and just a few minutes from the house along Estero Blvd.
